It is one of the most beautiful viewpoints around Lake Thun: The panoramic platform on Blueme. The two-hour hike from Teuffenthal has more to offer than just wonderful views of Emmental and the Bernese Oberland Alps. For example, the barefoot path along which this hike leads.
until «Teuffenthal Dorf»
from «Heiligenschwendi Reha Zentrum»
From the stop «Teuffenthal Dorf» you go back a short distance on the main road before the path turns right on a paved road. The route meanders towards Alpboden, where it finally leads over meadows up to the barefoot path. Three young women have created this as a final project of their training. It is worthwhile to do justice to the name of the path and take off your hiking boots. Various natural soils have been reconstructed here: the composition of the sections ranges from wood chips and mud to brook stones. Leaving the barefoot path behind you and your hiking boots freshly laced, you can walk simple paths up to Alpboden. The view back to the hilly foothills of Emmental compensates for the effort of the ascent. But these aren't over yet. Once again it goes up steeply, before the forest path runs straight ahead.
Take a deep breath. Because towards Blueme the way rises again abruptly. Attentive hikers will be able to see splashes of color at the edge of this route section – here magnificent toadstools thrive. Then it is accomplished: Blueme is reached. Almost 17 meters high above solid ground, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view from Lake Thun to the Bernese Alps and the Jura mountains. The prerequisite for this is climbing the 87 steps leading up to the panoramic platform. From the beautiful resting place Blueme the hike leads over the viewpoint Schwendi-Blueme-Dreiländerstein with a view of the city of Thun and the Stockhorn chain on narrow paths over hill and dale down to Wolfgruebe. There you can choose between two routes to Heiligenschwendi or to the REHA Center. One path leads over an Alpine meadow, the other over a field or forest road past a natural monument – the founding maple of Höhenklinik Heiligenschwendi, which was planted in 1895.
